In general, this division of the Public Utilities Department has the responsibility for constructing a majority of the departments aggressive utility capital improvements program; in additon to perform maintenance on tax ditches and stormwater management facilities. It is responsible for the following tasks:

• Constructs new water and sewer utility lines on a schedule dictated by the City's Capital Improvements Plan.
• Performs maintenance on the City's tax ditches and stormwater maintenance facilities.
• Performs construction management and inspection services for public and private capital projects as well as residential and commercial development.
• Assists with emergency repairs on the existing utility infrastructure.
