The City Manager's Office is responsible for budget preparation and implementation; customer service and special programs. Since taking over the budgeting process more than 20 years ago, the City has continually received the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Award. Our fiscal year runs from July 1st each year and ends June 30th.
Creating the budget takes a lot of time and effort in coordinating with the different departments on their specific needs and the needs in the community. As we create the budget we have to take into consideration the aging infrastructure and the services that our constituents require. Our goal is to provide the city council with a balanced budget that is fiscally responsible.
