| Construction
In general, this division of the Department of Public Works has the responsibility
for constructing a majority of the departments aggressive utility capital improvements
program; in additon to maintenance on tax ditches and stormwater management facilities.
It is responsible for the following tasks: - Constructs new water and sewer
utility lines on a schedule dictated by the City's Capital Improvements Plan.
- Performs maintenance on the City's tax ditches and stormwater maintenance
facilities.
- Performs construction management and inspection services for public
and private capital projects as well as residential and commercial development.
- Assists with emergency repairs on the existing utility infrastructure.
