What is the City of Dover Recreation Division all about?
The goal of the City of Dover Recreation Division is to provide the Dover community with a broad, varied and interesting selection of recreational programs and activities. This involves both active and passive programs designed to meet the needs of all residents regardless of age, sex, socio-economic status, race, or any disabilities. We are very proud of our parks. City parks can be found in key locations throughout Dover. Many parks are equipped with play areas and structures, walking paths, beautiful flowers, ornamental and shade trees.
Rentals
The John W. Pitts Recreation Center has a mupti-purpose room to rent for meetings and group activities. Also, pavilions and athletic fields are available for rentals in Dover Park, Schutte Park, Silver Lake and New Street Park. Rental rates and an application form are available on the Rentals page. For date availability please call the Recreation Division Office at 302-674-7541. All rental applications are subject to approval by the Recreation Division as well they may also be subject to review and approval by the City of Dover Police Department. We do not allow "repetative" rentals and policy does not allow for the operation of a business during the rental time.
