REGULAR MEETING
September 15th, 1937
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 13th day of September, 1937. The meeting was called to order by mayor Woodford and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. LeFevre, millman, Keith, Burton, Vane and Hinkle.
MINUTES
Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle, the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.
CITY MANAGER’S REPORT
The City Manager’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Burton.
Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle, Council voted to defer action on the extension of the sewer on North Street and Lincoln Street until a petition is signed by all property owners agreeing to tap onto this sewer when laid.
Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Vane, the sewer tapping fee for out of town property owners was made at $50.00 and $5.00 per year sewer rent for a complete bathroom and kitchen sink and $.50 for each additional outlet.
FINANCIAL REPORT
The financial report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted and approved upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith.
ALDERMAN’S REPORT
The Alderman’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton. A check amounting to $26.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of eight arrests.
POLICE REPORT
The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Millman.
COMPLAINT
Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Millman, the City Council authorized the City Manager to notify the Delmarva Diner to fix their chimney in order to eliminate a smoke nuisance to the surrounding property owners.
COMMITTEES
Mr. Gephart appeared before Council complaining about the parking of cars in the private alley in the rear of the Burton Building. Upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Vane, the City Manager was instructed to send a notice to the Kent County Motor Company not to park any of their cars in or in front of said alley.
DOVER BOOKLET
Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Keith, the City Council authorized the printing of a brochure, the price of which is not to exceed $600, providing that the copy be approved by a committee consisting of Mayor, City Manager and City Solicitor
