REGULAR MEETING

September 14th, 1936

            The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 14th day of September, 1936. The meeting was called to order by Vice-Mayor Frear and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. Downes, LeFevre, Burton, Keith and Vane.

MINUTES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Downes the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

            The City Manager’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith.

FINANCIAL REPORT

            The financial report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted and approved upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

            The Alderman’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton. A check of $93 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 20 arrests.

POLICE REPORT

            The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith.

COMMITTEE

            A committee appeared before Council with regards to opening an alley from William Street to Governors Avenue Boulevard between Bradford Street and Governors Avenue. Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Burton, the City Manager and the City Solicitor were authorized to act if consent of all property owners was obtained without cost to the City except the cost of moving a garage and shrubbery belonging to Melvin Hopkins.

ADJOURNMENT

            Council adjourned at 8:45 P. M.
