REGULAR MEETING

November 13, 1930

The meeting was called to order by President Woodford at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Messrs. Frear, Clark, Burton, Clements, Keith and Hinkle.

MINUTES

Upon motion of Messrs. Clark and Burton, the reading of the minutes of the last meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

The attached report of the City Manager was accepted as read and ordered placed in the minutes, upon motion of Burton and Clark. Upon motion Clements and Keith, the City Manager was given authority to order necessary supplies to decorate the City for the Xmas holidays. Upon motion of Burton and Clements, the City Manager was instructed to extend a water main on Water Street from where it now ends to Mr. H. P. George machinery shed, Mr. George agreeing to dig ditch for same at no cost to the City.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

The Alderman’s report for the month of October and fines collected amounting to $294.00 with 21 arrests. Check for same being turned over to the City Manager. Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Clements was ordered accepted and filed.

POLICE REPORT

Upon motion of Messrs. Clements and Burton, the report of the police was accepted as read by the Clerk.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Upon motion of Burton and Keith, the following financial report of the City Clerk after being read, was accepted, ordered placed in the minutes, and filed.

DISCOUNTS ALLOWED

Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hinkle, Mr. Frank Shakespeare was allowed the usual 5% discount on City taxes, account of not buying the property until about the time the tax bills were rendered, therefore, not receiving his bill in time to save the discount.

COMMITTEES

Mr. J. W. Radish appeared before the Council, and explained to them the advantage of an insurance policy covering all employees while in their employ. He was instructed, upon motion of Keith and Burton that he should approach the employees and get their opinion as to whether or not they desire such coverage at the rate quoted, after which he should report to the Council, and at that time, the proposition would receive their attention.

ADJOURNMENT

Council adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
