REGULAR MEETING

July 8, 1929

The meeting was called to order by President Woodford at 7:45 P.M. with the following members present Messrs. Burton, Clements, Hinkle, and Downes.

MINUTES

Upon motion of Messrs. Burton & Hinkle the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

ALDERMANS REPORT

The Aldermans report for the month of June and fines collected amounting to $136.00 with 20 arrests. Check for same being turned over to the treasurer. Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Burton this report was ordered accepted and filed.

POLICE REPORT

The report of the Chief of Police was accepted as read upon motion of Messrs. Downes & Burton.

CITY MANAGERS REPORT

The following report of the City Manager was accepted, ordered placed in the minutes and filed, upon motion of Messrs. Burton & Downes.

TREASURERS REPORT

Upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Downes the following report of the treasurer after being read by the Clerk was accepted and ordered placed in the minutes and filed.

PETITIONS

The following petitions were read by the Clerk.

1. To have a gasoline tank installed on the curb in front of the residence of Ruben Biter on New Street by Gulf Rfg. Co. This request was rejected by Council.

2. To buy the land and open Penn. Ave. through to Madison St. through Rodney Road. This was rejected for this year account of not enough funds.

3. To extend North Bradford Street with some improved street, north to Walker Road. This was favorable received as soon as Council could obtain correct grade from the State Highway Dept.

The attached ordinances were passed by the following vote of Council:

RESOLUTION

The following resolution was unanimously adopted:

BE IT RESOLVED that the Farmers Bank of the State of Delaware in Dover is hereby designated by the City Council as the depository in which the City Treasurer shall deposit all of the funds of the City of Dover.
