SPECIAL MEETING
February 14, 1928
Meeting was called to order by President Woodford at 2:45 P.M. with the following members present: Messrs. LeFevre, Downes, Clark, Frear, Hinkle, Clements and Burton.
NEW TURBINE
The prices for a G. E. 750 K.W. turbine and a Westinghouse 750 K.W. turbine was submitted to Council by the Chairman of the Light & Water committee. After being carefully discussed by Council, it was decided upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Burton that the Town should purchase Westinghouse 750 K.W. turbine at a price complete and delivered and placed on base at Dover, Delaware for $28,500.00 as per contract.
Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Downes, President J. Wallace Woodford and Secretary J. O. Willis were authorized to sign the contract and prepare all papers necessary for the purchase of Westinghouse 750 K.W. turbine.
OLD ENGINE SET
Sup’t Mr. L. D. Shank submitted an offer to Council for the old Engine Set for $1,000.00 as it stands. Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Clements, Council instructed Sup’t Shank to dispose of this engine set at the price of $1,000.00 after he was sure that he could not secure higher bid.
FIRE TRUCK TIRES
Councilman Hinkle informed Council that the tires on the Fox Fire Engine Truck were loose and unsafe for service. Council authorized Sup’t Shank to write for bids to equip said truck with new wheels and pneumatic tires.
PAYING CLAIM
Upon motion of Clements & Frear, Town Clerk was instructed to draw order on Treasurer for the amount of $300.00 in favor of Mrs. J. J. Morris for damages to property while crossing same with new sewer.
