Dover, Dela., March 15th, 1920.

A special meeting of Council was held at 7:30 P. M. with the following members present: Burton, Caulk, Downes, J.C. Hayes, L.J. Hayes, Hopkins, Forkum, Keith and the President.

Thomas W. Killen was present and sworn in as Town constable by the President of Council.

Town Assessment for 1920:

Michael M. Scanlon presented the Town assessment for 1920 on the Real estate, personal and poll, and Council began its usual examination and comparison.

Petitions:

Daniel Mifflin Wilson presented a petition signed by ten or more Citizens of the Town of Dover requesting that a street be opened between the First National Bank and the Post Office, and the same was read in full as follows, by the Clerk:

TO THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DOVER,

We, the undersigned, citizens of the Town of Dover, do hereby petition the Town Council to locate, lay out and open a new Street in the Town of Dover, said new street to begin in the southeastern side of King Street at the north west corner of the Post Office property and to extend in an easterly direction between the Post Office property on the South and the properties of the First National Bank and of Daniel M. Wilson on the North, the entire length of the said Post Office lot with such width as may be found available between the said Post Office lot and the First National Bank Building.

Robbins Hose Co. Election;

The ballot box of the Hose Co., was opened the votes counted and the report of the election read as follows: Chief Engineer elected George W. Morgan, 1st Asst. Engineer, elected Earl W. Humphreys, and it was found there was no legal election for 2nd Asst. Engineer so Council directed the Clerk to issue a new notice for an election for 2nd asst. Engineer, to be held Monday March 22nd, 1920 between 7 and 9:00PM and L. W. Clifton, H.B. Donoho and E.H,. Bostic were named as Judges to conduct same.

Council then declared a recess until 7:30 P. M. Tuesday March 16th to finish the Assessment of M.M. Scanlon.
