SPECIAL MEETING
July 6, 1981
A Special Meeting of Council, for the purpose of adopting the Yarger Report, was held on July 6, 1981 at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor McDonough presiding. Members present were Messrs. Bewick, Boaman, Hardcastle, Carey, Witt, Carson and Richter.
The invocation was delivered by Councilman Hardcastle.
Mr. Bewick moved to recess into executive session to discuss the Yarger Report and possible acquisition of property. The motion was seconded by Mr. Carey and unanimously carried.
YARGER REPORT - SALARY AND JOB RE-EVALUATION
Mr. Witt moved for adoption of the Yarger Report (salary and job re-evaluation), to be effective retroactive to July 5, 1981. Mr. Witt’s motion also included a hiring freeze to be placed on all departments of the City, with any replacements being made by Council approval. The motion was seconded by Mr. Boaman and carried by a unanimous roll call vote.
Mr. Boaman reported that the three bargaining committees are tentatively scheduled to meet on July 7, 1981 to afford the committees an opportunity to review the contents of the Yarger Report.
LAND ACQUISITION
Mr. Witt moved that the City Manager be authorized to purchase property for a price of $41,000 for the erection of a water storage tank, stipulating that said purchase be contingent upon proper site approval of the property. The motion also included the authorization of an appraisal of property located near the Maple Dale Country Club, located on County Road #104, for possible sale of same. The motion was seconded by Mr. Bewick and carried by a unanimous roll call vote.
RICHARDSON REZONING REQUEST - UPDATE
Mayor McDonough noted that a traffic impact study has been completed by the State Highway Department for the requested rezoning of the Richardson Tract. As soon as Mr. Roe receives a copy of the study he will set up a workshop session with Council to review the results.
