                                                            SPECIAL MEETING

July 16, 1962

A special meeting of City Council, acting as the LPA for Urban Renewal, was held Monday, July 16, 1962 at 9 P.M. at City Hall, with Mayor Carroll presiding. Councilmen present were Messrs Hayes, Hill, Hughes, Turner and Walls.

Myron Lamb, Director of Redevelopment, presented maps which included suggested changes in re-use plans for the area, particularly a change in the Governors Avenue portion to commercial use. Councilmen discussed various details of the plan without reaching any overall agreement. It was decided to determine the effect of extending Queen Street through to Water Street on marketability. Also discussed was retaining Bank Lane as a street rather than walkway.

The LPA authorized obtaining a revision of the re-use appraisal on the basis of Governors Avenue as a commercial area, the extension of Queen Street to Water Street, and Bank Lane as a street.

Council, as the LPA, adjourned at 10:30 P.M.

F. Neylan
