SPECIAL MEETING
September 25, 1950
A special meeting of City Council was held on Monday, September 25, 1950 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Storey presiding. Members present were Councilmen Behen, Culver, Petty, Smith and Wilson.
TAX ASSESSMENT
City Council studied the property tax reassessment prepared by a committee of Councilmen and Mr. Baker. Council approved the reassessment of residential properties as submitted but decided upon further study of the reassessment of business properties.
ORDINANCE
Council instructed the City Solicitor to prepare an ordinance authorizing the City to tear down building condemned by City Council when property owners fail to do so, and to assess the costs against the property.
BUS CENTER
The City Solicitor was instructed to inform all parties concerned in the suit brought to prevent sale as a bus center of the lot east of City Hall that the limit of liability for costs that the City will assume is $1500. If within a reasonable time this sum is not accepted as satisfactory, the City will proceed to have the case heard.
TOURIST HOMES AND ROOMING HOUSES
Council discussed City ordinances licensing tourist homes and rooming houses.
