SPECIAL MEETING
March 25, 1947
A special meeting of City Council was held in City Hall at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 25, with Mayor Woodford presiding. The following members were present: Mrs. Frear, Messrs. Keith, Vane, Hartnett, Mikell and Wright.
Fire Siren
The Nat Alexander Company offered to loan the City a small siren to be placed in the south part of Dover. The offer was accepted; and, without objection, after some discussion, the City Manager was instructed to accept the offer of Mr. Norris to install it on his property.
Line Truck
The City Manager reported that over sixteen years ago, the City purchased a second hand line truck from the State Highway Department. The truck is in such condition at the present time, that new parts cannot be purchased for it, and he recommends the purchase of a new one. Upon motion of Mr. Wright, seconded by Mr. Mikell, the City Manager was authorized to purchase a new truck.
Power Situation
Several months ago, it was decided that the services of an outside engineer should be procured to study the Dover power situation. Without objection, the City Manager was instructed to have this engineer submit an unbiased report of his findings.
Council adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
