SPECIAL MEETING

November 27, 1945

A special meeting of City Council was held on Tuesday evening, November 27, at 8:00 P.M. with Mayor Woodford presiding. Members present were Messrs. LeFevre, Hartnett, Carson, Hinkle, Keith, Vane and Burton.

PURPOSE OF MEETING

City Manager, Mr. Wilcox, explained to Council that the purpose of this meeting was to acquaint them with the outstanding contracts and commitments which would have to be paid before June 20, 1945, and those contracts or commitments pending which had already been approved by Council: the total of which amounted to approximately $127,000. Since the balance in bank plus anticipated revenues would not take care of these contracts or commitments in addition to the current bills, a way must be provided to take care of at least part of them. After some discussion upon motion of Mr. LeFevre seconded by Mr. Burton, it was decided that the proper officers be authorized to sell $25,000 worth of the $60,000 remaining bond issue to reimburse the City for the like amount paid George and Lynch as part payment on the dam contract, if this can be done, and that the remainder of the bonds be sold to pay the balance of the dam contract as soon as the bills become due and payable.

FEED WATER PUMPS

Upon motion of Mr. Hartnett seconded by Mr. Hinkle, the City Manager was authorized to increase the feed water supply at the power house at a cost not to exceed $20,000.00.

Council adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
