REGULAR MEETING

                                                                                                                        July 13th, 1942

            The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 13th day of July, 1942. The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by mayor Woodford and on roll call the following members answered “present”: Messrs. Downes, LeFevre, Millman, Hartnett, Burton, Vane and Hinkle.

MINUTES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle, the reading of the Minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

            The City Manager’s report for the month of June was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Millman.

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Millman, the City Manager was authorized to secure prices on a new garbage collection truck, and if he thought it advisable, to purchase the same as soon as possible.

FINANCIAL REPORT

            The financial report for the month of June was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

            The Alderman’s report for the month of June was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Hartnett. A check amounting to $206.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 22 arrests.

POLICE REPORT

            The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle.

ANNUAL LIBRARY APPROPRIATION

            Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Burton, the City Clerk was instructed to draw an order on the treasury for $250.00 which represents the amount of the City’s annual appropriation to the Dover Public Library.

SALARIES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Downes, the Council authorized the City Manager to raise the salary of Thomas E. Baker from $25.00 to $30.00 per week, and that of Clifford Artis from $35.00 to $37.50 per week.

OLD ACCOUNTS

            Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and LeFevre, City Council instructed the City Manager to credit the accounts of Charles Legates as follows: to miscellaneous account, $242.24; to light account, $162.65; and to water account, $65.00. These amounts represent his indebtedness to the City in the respective accounts as of July 1st, 1942.

            Council adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
