REGULAR MEETING

                                                                                                                        October 13, 1941

            The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 13th day of October, 1941. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Woodford presiding, and on roll call the following members answered “PRESENT”: Messrs. Millman, Keith, LeFevre, Downes, Hartnett, Burton, Hinkle and Vane.

MINUTES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton, the reading of the minutes of the last regular and special meetings was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

            The City Manager’s report for the month of September was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Hartnett.

            After some discussion regarding the right-of-way for Pear Street, Council decided to table the matter until some future date.

FINANCIAL REPORT

            The financial report for the month of September was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

            The Alderman’s report for the month of September was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Keith. A check amounting to $145.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 84 arrests.

POLICE REPORT

            The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Millman.

REFUND ON WATER ACCOUNT

            Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and LeFevre, Council instructed the City Clerk to make a refund to Mr. W. H. Warrington in the amount of $25.00, settling the claim that he had overpaid on his water rent at the store building on Loockerman Street for several years.

CITY MANAGER’S CONVENTION

            Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Keith, the Council voted to send the City Manager to represent Dover at the annual meeting of the International City Manager’s Association to be held at the Hollywood Beach Hotel in Hollywood, Florida from November 23rd to 27th, inclusive.

OLD WATER & MISCELLANEOUS ACCOUNTS

            Upon motion of Messrs. Downes and Keith, the City Manager was authorized to take off the active list all old water accounts and miscellaneous accounts which are uncollectable because of properties changing hands, people moving away, etc., a copy of this list to be entered in the account records of journal entries.
