REGULAR MEETING

                                                                                                                        September 8th, 1941

            The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dover was held on the 8th day of September, 1941. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Woodford presiding, and on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. LeFevre, Downes, Millman, Keith, Hartnett, Burton, Vane and Hinkle.

MINUTES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle, the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

            The City Manager’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Downes.

            Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Burton, the City Manager was instructed to take the necessary steps in order to have the shacks removed from the lot on the west side of North Queen Street belonging to Mr. Glyn Newton; also, to have this lot cleaned up and put in a sanitary condition.

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hartnett, the City Manager was authorized to pay 65% of the cost of the new boiler installation on the date due.

FINANCIAL REPORT

            The financial report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Millman.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

            The Alderman’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upn motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle. A check amounting to $107.00 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 62 arrests.

POLICE REPORT

            The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Downes.

REFUNDS ON FINES

            After checking the Police Report, the City Council instructed the City Clerk to refund the following amounts collected on fines to the respective persons:

            Mr. W. E. Holt, $10.00 paid for Daniel Franklin

            Dr. E. H. Mercer, $2.00.

            Dr. L. A. H. Bishop, $10.00

            C. R. Comegys, $2.00

CEMENT WALK

            Upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Hinkle, the City Clerk was instructed to notify Mrs. Sophia Jackson to lay a cement walk along the side of her property on Pennsylvania Avenue.

            Council adjourned at 8:45 P. M.
