Regular Meeting

                                                                                                                        September 11^th, 1939

            The regular meeting of the City Council of the City o Dover was held on the 11^th day of September, 1939. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Woodford at 7 P. M. and then on roll call the following members answered present: Messrs. LeFevre, Keith, Millman, Frear, Burton, Vane and Hinkle.

MINUTES

            Upon motion of Messrs. Frear and Burton, the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with.

CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

            Due to the illness of the City Manager, there was no report.

FINANCIAL REPORT

            The financial report for the month of August was ready by the Clerk and approved upon motion of Messrs. Hinkle and Keith.

ALDERMAN’S REPORT

            The Alderman’s report for the month of August was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Burton and Frear. A check amounting to $188 was turned over to the City Manager with the report of 16 arrests.

POLICE REPORT

            The report of the Chief of Police was read by the Clerk and accepted upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Millman.

NEW ORDINANCE

            Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Vane, the City Solicitor was authorized to draw an ordinance to regulate the operation of tourist homes within the City limits of the City of Dover.

CITY MANAGER’S CONVENTION

            Upon motion of Messrs. Frear and Keith, Council voted to send the City Manager to the International City Manager’s Convention to be held in Detroit from October 9^th to 12^th, inclusive.

ELECTRIC RATE FOR BASEBALL PARK

            Upon motion of Messrs. Keith and Frear, Council voted to give the Dover Baseball & Exhibition Company a light rate of 1¢ per KW for the season of 1939.

 

            Upon motion of Messrs. Frear and Hinkle, Council voted that all light and water bills charged against the homes of the Mayor, Councilmen, City Manager and City Clerk be discounted 100% as of September 1^st, 1939.

AUDITOR’S REPORT

            Upon motion of Messrs. LeFevre and Frear, the City Clerk was instructed to have the consolidated report of the City audit published; also, to have printed copies made of same.

ADJOURNMENT

            Council adjourned at 7:45 P. M.
