Do you have the desire to provide professional and impartial service to our community?  The City of Dover is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time Police Cadet in the Police Department.  The primary duties of this position are to provide law enforcement assistance to the Police Department.

Job Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas in the Downtown Dover and Dover Public Library area to enforce City of Dover Ordinances
• Process prisoners, including completing required paperwork and operation mug shot image computer
• Issue summons to ordinances violators & completes arrest reports as needed
• Assist other police personnel as directed
• Assist with administrative and operational goals of the department

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• In-depth background investigation
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Physical fitness test

A criminal background investigation will be required. Candidates may be given a job-related test during the interview.
